HOW TO OBTAIN THE WEATHERIZATION ASSISTANT

Computer-based Application

The computer-based Weatherization Assistant application provides access to the National Energy Audit Tool (NEAT) and the Manufactured Home Energy Audit (MHEA). Version 8.9.0.5 is the latest version of the computer-based Weatherization Assistant application. See the Update History for a detailed listing of the changes made to this and previous versions. WA 8.9.0.5 – The latest executable installation file for Version 8.9 of the computer-based Weatherization Assistant application, which was released on February 10, 2012. The executable file is provided as a zip file. After downloading the zip file to your computer, double click on it to unzip it into an exe file. After the zip file has been unzipped, it is no longer needed and can be deleted from your computer.

Use of the optional Geographical Information System (GIS) to map client’s residences requires an additional download and installation of two files.

Web-based Application

The web-based Weatherization Assistant application provides access to the Multifamily Tool for Energy Audits (MulTEA) and the Health and Safety Audit. You must contact an ORNL staff person to obtain the correct url web address for the web-based Weatherization Assistant application, a user name, and a password to use the software. For users interested in using the web-based application as part of their implementation of the US Department of Energy (DOE) Weatherization Assistant Program, use of the software is usually coordinated with the state staff that administers the DOE Weatherization Assistant Program. Uses of the software outside of the DOE Weatherization Assistance Program may be limited.
